Face Lift and Eyelid Lift

A face lift is designed for complete facial rejuvenation. Our advanced techniques eliminate wrinkles and sagging skin of the face and neck to create a younger, more beautiful appearance. A face lift will take years off your life, allowing you to look as young as you feel. Many facelift patients could also benefit from an eyelid lift, which is commonly performed during the same visit. The eyes serve as the focal point for your appearance. Sagging eyelid skin and puffy bags obstruct the eyes and make us look tired and older than we feel. An eyelid lift corrects this by removing the excessive eyelid skin and fat to create a youthful, more awake appearance.

The face lift procedure usually involves incisions in front of and behind the ear. The incisions may extend into the scalp. Once the incisions are made, various degrees of undermining of the skin are performed, and the deeper layers of the face are ‘lifted’. Muscle tightening as well as liposuction of the neck and jowls may be performed, and excess skin is either removed or repositioned. The results are a reversal of the effects of gravity and tightening of soft tissues of the face to restore a more youthful contour to the face. Benefits of having face lift surgery are as following:

  • Increased self-confidence and self-esteem
  • Looking younger
  • Feeling rejuvenated and fresher
  • Easier application of make-up

An eyelid lift or blepharoplasty can describe any number of procedures for eyelid rejuvenation. For the upper eyelid lift surgeon judiciously removes a very small measure of extra skin when there is excessive skin hooding of the upper eyelid, but oftentimes facial fat transfer to create the right convexity and shape of a youthful eyelid. Lower blepharoplasty is used to remove excess puffiness or bags from under the eyes. The lower eyelid puffiness is caused by excess herniating fat, which is removed during the procedure. In general, lower eyelid wrinkles are not removed by lower blepharoplasty. Wrinkles are best treated using lasers or chemical peels. Lower blepharoplasty can be performed under sedation or general anesthesia, takes about an hour or more, and results in very little discomfort.
